Delaware Capitol Police vehicles by Altered Art

Some of my favorite things to take photos of are fire departments/emergency/rescue - and police cars. I love the graphics and lettering and how each one is so very different from the rest. These were taken at an event in Dover, Delaware on January 9th, 2016. The Capitol Police are located in Dover, the capitol of our "First State".

About the Capitol Police via their website:

"The Delaware Capitol Police began as a three-man unit in 1965 to watch over Legislative Hall in order to deter vandalism of the property." Read more at http://capitolpd.delaware.gov/capitol_police_history.shtml. The department is also on Facebook.

This photo was taken 9/11/14 during the Veterans Escort to the Freeman Stage in southern Delaware. Wounded warriors who come to stay for a week in Bethany with Operation Seas the Day are invited to a concert at Bayside on Route 54 in west Fenwick Island. They are escorted for the eight mile trip by over a hundred police cars, fire trucks, motorcycles and antique vehicles - local residents line the streets waving flags and it's a wonderful way for our community to show our appreciation to these veterans and their families.

Check out the police, rescue and emergency vehicles on my Flickr albums!
